It should’ve been scary, being thrown a year and a half back in time with no explanation, but Tim didn’t feel scared. He was in the barn with Bart and it was warm – it had been a warm spring that year, he remembered – and nothing bad had happened yet. If it was a dream, it was a good one.
Seventeen-year-old Tim Drake will stop at nothing to find Bruce, but his quest is put on hold when he wakes up in the past. He’s sixteen again, in a blissful sanctuary from everything that keeps him awake at night. Here, his friends are still alive, and so is his father. And so is Conner, who especially sticks in Tim’s mind: their tumultuous, ambiguous relationship came to an abrupt end when Conner died, and Tim still wishes he’d found the courage to tell Conner how he felt.
But Bruce is absent from the past, too – if this really is the past. To find him, Tim knows he needs to find a way back to the present. But that means giving everything up for a second time, when he’s lost so much already.
Tractors is a 63,000 word complete longfic based between Red Robin (2009) and Teen Titans (2003) before Infinite Crisis, although the Tim & Bart & Cassie & Kon friendship dynamic is heavily inspired by Young Justice (1998). It’s definitely my favourite fic I’ve written for DC, by a long shot.
‘What’s that about?’ Conner asked, softly.
‘My dad doesn’t like me being away from home,’ said Tim, twisting his hoodie strings round his fingers, ‘like, he really doesn’t like it.’
After Deathstroke gives Tim two black eyes and a broken nose, he can't go back to his dad's, so he takes up Conner's offer of spending a few days on the farm. But now Tim has to confront everything he's been running from -- his girlfriend back home, the sheer exhaustion of his double life, his confusing feelings about Conner.
Tim's dad won't stop calling Tim, trying to get him to come home. Maybe Tim can't keep making excuses forever.
Wind Turbines is a medium-length longfic, currently at 26,000 words with 5 out of 6 chapters, but will be finished soon. In many ways this fic is a kind of proto-Tractors and you can see a lot of influence where pieces of Wind Turbines ended up forming Tractors. Wind Turbines has its own unique plot that isn’t canon to the Tractors universe, focusing more heavily around Robin (1993), but it’s also strongly influenced by Teen Titans (2003) and also mainly based around Tim and Kon.
Most of my New 52 fics are probably going to stay in the drafts, but I have 1 posted so far. Maybe more to come one day.
‘Leave dead men alone,’ Clark would’ve told Lois, but Clark is gone. And she has a feeling about this.
Red Robin died in the Battle of Paris, but Tim Drake is still alive (barely), living under an alias and wishing he was dead. Lois Lane needs someone to help her with a mysterious box of clues, and she knows Tim is lying about his past. And a dead man walking is just what Terry McGinnis needs for his quest against Brother Eye.
This is set within the (admittedly niche for anyone who wasn’t reading it while it was coming out) New 52 event "Futures End”. But this fic can be read with little or no knowledge of Futures End or New 52 at all - just treat it as a dystopian future AU.
For fics set beyond the 2016 DC continuity reboot, although these generally still hold some influence from postcrisis.
‘I don’t think we did,’ said Tim. His knee was still touching Conner’s. ‘Like I said, I think I would’ve remembered.’
‘I wish you’d said something,’ said Conner. His breath left mist in the dark air. ‘I would’ve probably tried anything with you.'
This is a short oneshot response to Bendis’ 2019 Young Justice. It’s probably one of my most grown-up depictions of Tim and Conner (although I guess they are actually older here, if you take Tim as finally ageing into his 20s sometime during Rebirth). I like the dialogue and the vibes here, although the fic is interesting to me in that a lot of people in the AO3 comments seem to come away with a very different interpretation of the relationship dynamics than what I thought I was putting on the page. That’s the thing with fic, though, I guess – you just put it out there and people can read whatever they like into it.

(PDF format reccommended for this fic since it uses unconventional formatting)
All I could think about was Tim who liked to fight. Tim who knew something that I didn’t.
A long oneshot (17K) character study of Bernard and Tim's relationship over the course of five years. This is largely based within Urban Legends (2021) going into Tim Drake: Robin (2022). TDR is a comic that I seriously dislike, so I tried to update Tim and Bernard’s relationship with some inspiration from Bernard’s original appearances in Robin (1993). And there’s lots of Enya.
